Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be introduced on the UnderwriteMe Platform for all users. MFA improves security by requiring both your password and a one-time code generated by an authenticator app or recovery codes.
Why are we rolling this out?
We take security seriously, especially when it comes to handling personal data. MFA will provide better security to your accounts, and authentication for individual users to ensure only the right person is logging into the platform.
What does it look like?
When MFA is enabled, your login experience will slightly change after you enter your username and password. To make this as straightforward as possible, we have a documented ‘how to’ plus a step-by-step video.
How to set up MFA
✔️ On your first login, you’ll see it asks you to set up an authenticator app.
✔️You then need to download an authenticator app of your choice and scan the QR code.
✔️ Then you need to enter the code from your authenticator app.
✔️ For your first login you’ll also receive recovery codes—please store these safely in case you need them again.
✔️ You will then proceed to log in!
What happens the next time I need to log in?
✔️ On future logins, you’ll enter your username and password, then be asked for one-time code.
✔️ Reopen the authenticator app that you previously downloaded. Enter the code on screen.
✔️ To save doing this every time, you can tick the ‘Remember for 30 days’ box.
✔️ Done!
